State department invites federal employees to test online passport application
The US state department has invited federal employees and contractors to renew their passports online, ahead of the public launch of an online passport application system. Employees are required to pre-register online and create a MyTravelGov account through which they can apply for the passport. According to a directive by President Joe Biden, the passport renewal process should be smooth and convenient, and should not require mailing of documents or physical appearance by the citizen at a government office.
