South Sudan joins ATU

South Sudan has joined the African Telecommunication Union (ATU) and as such has become the organisation’s 49th member state. This development is expected to foster integration in regional markets, greater involvement in ICT projects, investment in telecommunications infrastructure, as well as strengthening of human and institutional capacity. The ATU is a specialised agency of the African Union. It represents the interest of its members in global ICT conferences and serves as a platform for different stakeholders involved in decision-making on information infrastructure and services in Africa.
