Smart city projects from around the world
As Internet of Things technologies and applications continue to evolve, projects intended to use such technologies in order to build smart cities become more and more complex. A recent article published by Computer Business Review offers an overview of five IoT smart city projects from around the world. These include: India’s Smart City Mission project (aimed to transform 100 cities in smart cities by the end o the decade); Dubai Plan 2021 (the smart city strategy that includes over 100 separate initiatives in areas such as healthcare, industry, education, safety, telecoms, etc); Barcelona’s ongoing projects to use IoT in e-government services, utility measurements, city apps, etc; Australia’s Commomwealth’s Smart Cities Plan; and Singapore’s Smart Nation programme.
