Singapore and Malaysia agree to deepen cooperation in the digital and green economies

Singapore and Malaysia aim to enhance cooperation in digital and green economies for sustainable growth. Leaders emphasize the importance of collaboration and interoperability to create opportunities for businesses and communities.

Singapore Ministry for Trade and Industry (MTI) and the Malaysia Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) announced a joint collaboration to promote the digital economy and green economy as ‘key to sustainable and inclusive growth’ for the two countries. Within this collaboration, the two ministers discussed their recent engagement at the Informal Ministerial Meeting on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) held in Paris and affirmed the strategic and economic significance of the IPEF as a ‘valuable platform’ for the US to engage with the region. ‘To prepare for the next phase of growth in the digital economy, it is important for Singapore and Malaysia to foster greater interoperability and collaboration. This will unlock a greater range of opportunities for the benefit of our businesses and communities,’ said Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong.
