SDG Impact Accelerator opens its second global call for startups

start-ups

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) launched the second global call for SDG Impact Accelerator (SDGia) to motivate start-ups to work on products and services in the field of financial inclusion in Bangladesh and digital agriculture in Uganda. The second call, which targets entrepreneurs to find innovative solutions for SDG-related complex development challenges, is open until 22 January 2021. It provides funds up to US$15 000 in areas related to agriculture, nutrition (health), infectious and vector diseases (health), economic empowerment (gender), and economic growth and trade. While the Digital Agriculture Call is addressing the digital agriculture challenge in Uganda focusing on ‘world with zero hunger,’ the Financial Inclusion Call is targeting financial inclusion with innovative solutions as a critical enabler to development in Bangladesh. ‘By empowering entrepreneurs and providing innovative, forward-thinking solutions, we can collectively contribute to finding answers to some of the most pressing challenges faced by disadvantaged groups,’ said UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries Managing Director Joshua Setipa.
