Scottish government launches £6 million IoT network

Glasgow firm Boston Networks in co-operation with the Scottish government, the Scottish Enterprise, and the Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE) launched a £6 million Internet of things (IoT) network in Scotland. The network will work via 500 long range (LoRa) wireless gateways situated throughout Scotland, enabling transmission of data between electronic devices and appliances across the country. Mostly businesses and public sector organisations that could monitor the efficiency and productivity of their IoT devices and improve their functioning will benefit from the network.
