Rwanda deploys robots for fight against COVID-19

According to a report, the government of Rwanda partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to deploy robots in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The THOR UVC robots will be used to minimise contact between frontline workers and persons infected with COVID-19 and to help enforce safety guidelines at strategic points. The robots will also help in cleaning and disinfecting health facilities and places of mass gathering, such as markets, offices, or borders. The robots utilise a germicidal dose of continuous-wave ultra-violet energy to kill germs and pathogens.
