Russian telecom authority to look into regulating search engines

The telecom regulatory authority in Russia plans to create a working group to examine the regulation of search engines results, according to torrentfreak.com. This seems to be part of a series of initiatives ‘designed to make pirated content hard to find’. While rights holders in the country want search engines to demote or remove infringing sites from search results, the authority noted that, although that this is an understandable position, it is not a matter that can easily be solved.
