Russia to slow down access to Twitter

The Russian government announced that it is slowing access to Twitter, given the platform’s failure to remove illegal content. Russia’s telecommunications regulator already started to reduce the speed at which Twitter webpage loaded for users in the country. The main concerns of public authorities are related to posts about illegal drug use, child pornography and messages pushing young citizens toward suicide, according to the New York Times.
