Regional and minority languages need better access to the digital world

Regional and minority languages need better access to the digital world announces that the EU will offer new support for Northern European and Baltic Languages and Cultures research and teaching, to address the lack of regional and minority languages in the digital world. This includes social media, booking websites, Wikipedia and others which are available in only a few language. The three-year project will emphasise linguistic diversity, by not only preserving languages, but fostering use, including representation in digital form. The project includes a Digital Language Survival Kit which offers recommendations to better represent languages in the digital world.
