Philippines to open digital ID registration

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has announced that it will open the registration for digital ID to the general public starting 18 January. The PSA had last year announced that during this process, services would include document verification and biometric capture.  Deputy National Statistician and PSA Assistant Secretary Rosalinda Bautista stated that the PSA is targeting to register at least 50 million Filipinos by the end of 2021. She added that there were plans to register Filipino workers as well as Filipinos with dual citizenship.
