Philippines launches new COVID-19 tracker

The Philippine Department of Health (DOH)  launched a new COVID-19 tracker to further promote transparency and accountability. The renewed tracker features additional information on the epidemiology of the Coronavirus in the Philippines, testing availabilities, healthcare facilities, and availability of personal protective equipment. The information is based on data collected from hospitals and stakeholders via the DataCollect app, such as essential resources and supplies, the availability of hospital beds, isolation rooms, and ICU beds. The implementation of data collection is mandated on DOH’s partner hospitals under the ‘Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act’.
