Philippines introduces app to track voter registration
The Commission of Elections in the Philippines has introduced an app that is expected to track biometric voter registration. The app is meant to speed up online registration of the electoral body before they provide their biometric data to the Commission of Elections. For the time being, the app is available to all Filipinos except those residing abroad and in the metro Manila area. The new mechanism is expected to increase the number of new voters to four million by 2022.
