Partnership for quantum education launched in the USA

The US National Science Foundation and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy have partnered with several actors from the tech industry and the education community to launch a National Q-12 Education Partnership to encourage the study of quantum science and engineering. The declared goal of the partnership is to ‘foster a range of training opportunities to increase the capabilities, diversity, and number of students who are ready to engage in the quantum workforce’. This will be done through actions such as promoting quantum outreach and education in middle school and high school, introducing quantum technologies and science in school curricula, and broadening access to learning materials and quantum-related curricula to community colleges and online courses (in addition to universities). Members of the partnership include IBM, Google, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, Amazon Web Services, and Boeing, among others.
