Obama: Google to expand Internet access in Cuba

During his visit in Cuba, Obama has told reporters that Google will install more WiFi and broadband access in the country. The US President said, ‘One of the things that we’ll be announcing here is that Google has a deal to start setting up more WiFi and broadband access on the island.’ Some kind of deal was expected, as Google’s Vice President Vint Cerf visited Cuba last week. It will be interesting to see how Google’s deal play out, as Chinese operator Huawei is currently heavily investing in Cuba’s Internet infrastructure.
