NIST publishes a guide for public feedback about securing IIoT

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) issue a draft guide for public comments about Securing the Industrial Internet of Things: Cybersecurity for Distributed Energy Resources (NIST SP 1800-32). The guide offers standards, best practices, and commercially available technology to protect the digital communication, data, and control of cyber-physical grid-edge devices. The guide demonstrates how to monitor the behavior of connected IIoT devices and build a comprehensive audit trail of trusted IIoT data flows. This guide aims to help companies provide secure access to DERs, monitor and trust the data coming from them. The deadline for submitting comments is October 20, 2021.
