NHS hit by ransomware attack

A ransomware attack has hit Advanced, which provides its services to various healthcare services, including the NHS.

British business software and services provider, Advanced, which provides its software to various healthcare services, including the National Health Service (NHS), has been attacked by ransomware. The attack has affected services, including patient referrals, ambulance dispatch, out-of-hours appointment bookings, mental health services, and emergency prescriptions.
Advanced works with government agencies, including the National Cyber Security Centre and the Information Commissioner’s Office, to recover the affected systems. No information has yet been reported on who the attacker(s) might be.
