News organisations sue FBI for not disclosing the Apple exploits it used

Associated Press, Vice Media and the USA Today sued the FBI requesting it to disclose the vulnerability in the Apple software that FBI exploited to hack the phone of the San Bernardino shooter, and to report how much the US government paid for it. The lawsuit followed the FBI report that it hired a third party to crack the targeted iPhone without Apple’s help, with only few information that the FBI director provided in April: that the price had been over USD 1 million, and that the exploit used works only on a limited series of iPhones. Experts have warned earlier, during the “Apple vs FBI” debate after the shooting, that the FBI and involved parties will have to disclose the vulnerability in the Apple’s system in case they manage to crack into the phone on their own.
