New York State to establish coronavirus tech SWAT teams

The state of New York announced the launch of technology special weapons and tactics (SWAT) teams to respond to the coronavirus outbreak. The teams will accelerate and amplify efforts to contain the pandemic by leveraging expertise in technology, operations, analytics, and communications. Participation is voluntary and officials stated they are particularly looking for professionals experienced in product management, software development and engineering, hardware deployment and end-user support, data science,  operations management, and design. The teams are open not only to tech companies but also to universities, non-profit organisations, research labs, and other organisations.
