New York City publishes its IoT strategy

New York City chief technology officer issues New York City IoT strategy for the upcoming decade. The strategy is based on six principles: (1) governance and coordination; (2) privacy and transparency; (3) security and safety; (4) fairness and equity; (5) efficiency and sustainability, and (6) openness and public engagement. The strategy also offers recommendations to address these issues and outlines five broad action goals: (1) fostering innovation IoT technologies; (2) promoting data sharing and transparency (3) improving governance and coordination of the city’s use of connected technologies; (4) deriving value from cross-sector partnerships; (5) engaging with Industry and advocating for communities’ digital rights.
