New technologies used for land monitoring system
Smartphone technology, drones, and community digital maps are being used in a new monitoring system to safeguard forests, wetlands, and way of life, by the Wapichan People of Guyana. Community information is collected using a grassroots land use monitoring arrangement. A locally owned and managed website captures the monitoring information on the Internet.
