New reports of public privacy calls in China

NPR reports that increasing public concerns about privacy have spurred a nascent movement to secure people’s data in China. For instance, the article mentions Wu Dong, a former hotel reviewer who has become a campaigner, who is now part of a growing community of individuals pushing for stronger privacy rules. In part due to increasing data leaks and public concerns, Chinese cyberspace authority announced a stronger stance on data collection in January 2019.
