Netherlands to invest €60 million in cellular agriculture ecosystem

The government of the Netherlands has announced that it is allocating €60 million to support the development of an ecosystem around cellular agriculture. The funds, administered through the National Growth Fund, are intended to stimulate education and academic research in cellular agriculture and support innovation and publicly accessible scale-up facilities. A recently formed Cellular Agriculture Netherlands consortium (which includes industry players, startups, academia, and non-governmental organisations) has proposed a larger plan envisioning an overall investment of €252–€383 million in cellular agriculture.
