NCC Group reported that ransomware attacks increased by 47% in July

NCC Group’s monthly report revealed the rise of ransomware attacks from 135 in June to 198 in July. The increase in ransomware attacks is connected to two new threat actors, Hiveleaks and BlackBasta, which are associated with the Conti hacking group. The main targets of the attacks include the industrials, consumer cyclicals, and technology sectors. The report also warns to closely monitor the Lazarus cryptocurrency heist as they have increased their crypto theft and ransomware attacks to aid North Korea.
