National algorithm hub established in New Zealand to tackle COVID-19

Orion Health, a New Zealand-based healthcare software company, announced that it has established the New Zealand Algorithm Hub to support the country’s COVID-19 response. Orion Health has been awarded funding from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and the Employment COVID-19 Acceleration Fund to develop the hub. The newly developed platform aims to provide the infrastructure, tools, and resources that data scientists and researchers require for operational modelling and timely information sharing with the government, healthcare organisations, and professionals. Access to models, algorithms, or risk calculators deployed by Orion Health is free for New Zealand health, government, and academic organisations that are involved in the COVID-19 pandemic response.
