Mozambique and Tanzania sign broadband deal

The government of Tanzania has signed an agreement with Mozambique in order to extend Tanzania’s ITC national broadband to neighbouring Mozambique. The cable will cover a distance of 72 kilometres and is aimed to provide fast, reliable and affordable internet connection. Moreover, the project will also comprise the construction of the fiber optic layout, the mechanical building, power and transmission equipment as well as the guard booth. Tanzania, as one of the hubs in terms of ICT infrastructure, has already extended its broadband to surrounding countries including Burundi, Malawi, and Uganda.
