More than fifty top CEOs urge US Congress to pass consumer privacy bill
51 CEOs, including those from Amazon, AT&T and IBM, sent a letter to Congress leaders asking that consumer privacy legislation be fast-tracked into law. According to this letter, “Now is the time for Congress to act and ensure that consumers are not faced with confusion about their rights and protections based on a patchwork of inconsistent state laws”. According to ZDNet, the 51 CEOs would like one law that governs all user privacy and data protection across the US, which would simplify product design, compliance, and data management.
