Microsoft publishes its approach to terrorist content online
Microsoft has published its policies related to online terrorist content in a recent blog post. In the article, Microsoft admits that it has ‘a responsibility…not to contribute, however indirectly, to terrible acts.’ The text outlines the different measures taken by Microsoft, including removing terrorist content, defining terrorist content, observing notice-and-takedown, and promoting freedom of expression on Bing. Finally, it lists different partnerships within which Microsoft attempts to tackle the issue. Earlier this month, Microsoft contributed to the UN Security Council’s debate on countering the narratives and ideologies of terrorism.
