Microsoft to boost South Africa’s agricultural sector

Tech giant Microsoft has reported that it will invest 40 million South African rands in order to advance the development of the South African agricultural sector. The objective of the investment is to improve the output and sustainability of smallholder farmers by addressing challenges such as lack of infrastructure, business skills, and access to competitive markets. The funding is expected to facilitate the use of technology to improve economic participation and efficiency of farmers.

The investment will help bring South African tech companies on board and engage them to set out advanced solutions for the local agricultural sector.
