Mastercard and MTN establish partnership to promote digital financial inclusion in Africa

Mastercard has established a partnership with MTN that aims to promote digital financial inclusion in 16 African countries. In order to promote safe and secure global e-commerce payments, the initiative will link Mastercard’s virtual payment service to MTN MoMo (Mobile Money) wallets, enabling consumers and producers to engage with foreign brands and businesses through digital commerce. Ultimately, the collaboration is meant to extend the reach of individuals to international markets and give way to new opportunities.
