LinkedIn blocked in Russia for not complying with data localisation regulation
Russia has blocked LinkedIn in the country under the allegation that the social network failed to transfer Russian users’ data to servers located in national territory. This violates a law instituted in Russia requiring all online sites to store personal data on national servers. The decision was issued by Russia’s communications regulator, Roskomnadzor, following a decision from the Moscow city court. Russia has described its rule on localized servers as a way of protecting user’s personal data.
