Legal measures pushing disability access rights

Called a New Era for Disability Rights Digital by Inside Higher Ed,  rights advocates are employing legal measures to push implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. As a result of lawsuit settlements, US universities such as Miami University in Ohio are overhauling their accessibility policies to include personalised accessibility plans, improved course learning materials and platforms, and accessible websites, to improve opportunities for higher education for students with disabilities. Solutions are being sought for visual and audio disabilities, as universities are encouraged to see updates not as a cost, but as an investment.
