Kenya introduces digital health pass for departing travelers

Kenya’s Ministry of Health announced that it has rolled out Trusted Travel, an online ‘trustworthy and safe’ system to strengthen the ministry’s ability to verify, authenticate, and validate COVID-19 test results and vaccine certification. Travelers departing from Kenya are advised to take a COVID-19 PCR test at an authorised laboratory and be issued with a Trusted Travel (TT) code that can be verified by airlines and airport customs. Passengers will receive a text message from the ministry’s technical partner, paraBIOS, with a link to guide them to generate an online travel code. Departing passengers enter their TT code on the Trusted Travel website to validate their test result or vaccination certificate. Upon successful validation against destination country requirements, passengers receive exit approval for Kenya via the Trusted Travel system.
