Kaspersky Lab: spam emails have become more criminalised
Kaspersky Lab has revealed, in its recent Spam and Phishing Report for the first quarter of 2016, that, although the quantity of spam emails has constantly been decreasing since 2012, they have become more criminalised. The quantity of emails with malicious attachments has increased 3.3 times between the first quarter in 2015 and the same period in 2016. The report also shows that the US remained the biggest source of spam, while Germany was the country most targeted by malicious emails. According to Kaspersky, ‘spam is becoming more popular for fraudsters to target Internet users, because web browsing is becoming safer’.
