Jammu & Kashmir journalists upset with Press Council of India

A group of journalists in Jammu and Kashmir expressed concern at the Press Council of India’s plan to intervene in a plea filed by Kashmir Times executive editor Anuradha Bhasin in the Supreme Court. The Press Council of India intervention supports the media restriction in the state and said ‘it is in the interest of sovereignty. The journalists who condemned this stand said the council is not standing is failing in its responsibility to defend press freedom.
