ITU’s WTDC-22 endorses Kigali Declaration and Action Plan to connect the unconnected to achieve sustainable development

The report includes the Kigali Declaration which outlines the main conclusions and priorities established by the conference and reinforces the political support for the ITU development mission and strategic goals. It further highlights the Kigali Action Plan which includes the new and revised resolutions and recommendations; regional initiatives intended to address specific telecommunication/ICT priority areas through partnerships and resource mobilisation to implement projects that are part of the Action Plan; and the new and revised questions to be studied by ITU-D study groups.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published the provisional final report of the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2022 (WTDC-22) which was convened under the theme Connecting the unconnected to achieve sustainable development on 6–16 June 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda. The report includes the Kigali Declaration which outlines the main conclusions and priorities established by the conference and reinforces the political support for the ITU development mission and strategic goals. It further highlights the Kigali Action Plan which includes the new and revised resolutions and recommendations; regional initiatives intended to address specific telecommunication/ICT priority areas through partnerships and resource mobilisation to implement projects that are part of the Action Plan; and the new and revised questions to be studied by ITU-D study groups.
