ITU head Houlin Zhao on going beyond 5G

According to a report, the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Houlin Zhao has stated, that in spite of the huge promises of 5G and its current rollout in key regions such as the Middle East and Africa, the implementation would be meaningless if it does not improve the lives of people.

Zhao, who spoke at the SAMENA Leaders Summit 2019 in Dubai, called on operators to use existing technologies to improve the world and make it a better place for the coming generation. Finally, he called for enhanced co-operation between operators, suppliers, vendors, government regulatory authorities, and end users to make 5G a success.
