ITU and Cisco launch Digital Transformation Centers initiative
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Cisco, launched the Digital Transformation Centres initiative with the aim of bridging the digital divide by providing people with relevant skills to actively participate in today’s digital society and economy. Introduced at the ITU Telecom World held in Budapest, Hungary, the initiative will gather a network of institutions to develop digital skills programmes in specific tech areas.
ITU and Cisco will identify 10 Digital Transformation Centres to participate in the initial phase and the selected centres will be located in the Americas, Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions.
