Italy fines Facebook €11 million for misleading consumers. The Italian Competition Authority (ICA) stated in a press release that Facebook misled users about its services being for free. In fact, consumers paid to use the platform’s services by giving their data to Facebook who afterwards traded and commercially exploited the data. The regulator also stated that Facebook users were not properly informed that their data would be commercially exploited. Facebook still did not release an official comment on the decision
