Irish DPC indicates WhatsApp ruling delayed to next year

According to Fortune, Helen Dixon, the head of the Irish data protection authority (DPC), signaled that its draft decision of its investigation on WhatsApp’s violation of the GDPR was delayed of several months. Fortune reports that the team of the DPC closed their investigations into their first two cases, concerning WhatsApp and Twitter, in October, triggering thus the decision-making phase. But a procedural complaint made by the legal team defending WhatsApp has eventually delayed this decision into next year.
