Iran launched its first private cloud data center

A private IT company in Iran is reported to have launched the country’s first cloud data center, partially funded by the government. Building the data center took three years and required an investment of $13 million, $5 million of which came from government funding. According to media reports, the government sees the data center as an opportunity for Iranians to ‘benefit from faster, cheaper and higher quality services while maintaining their privacy and security on the Internet’.
