IoT devices used in DDos attacks

Over a million security cameras, video recorders are other Internet of Things devices (IoT) were used in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks on a US security researcher and French network security provider, Eweek reports. The attack delivered connection request at the rate of nearly 700 gigabits per second, making this the first massive attack involving network-connected devices. This brings into sharper focus the problem of IoT security and the fact that only few organisations seem to have taken steps to develop a protocol to make sure that the devices connected to the Internet are secure.
