Microsoft 365 has launched Copilot, an AI-powered chatbot that assists users with various tasks across Microsoft Office apps, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. Copilot can provide information on upcoming meetings, prepare users with updates on related projects and organizational changes, create and edit documents, transcribe meetings, summarize email threads, and generate summaries and planning overviews.

It is powered by a combination of Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft Graph, and GPT-4 language models and uses grounding to improve the quality of the prompts it is given. Microsoft is currently testing Copilot with a small group of customers and plans to expand the preview in the coming months.

Microsoft has acknowledged that Copilot may not always be correct, and users should review and fact-check the content generated.
