Indonesia completes fiber-optic network to bring internet to remote east

The last portion of a 13,000km fiber-optic network has been completed in Indonesia. This increased capacity will provide access to high-speed internet to some of the areas in Indonesia with lowest economic power. This portion of the network referred to as the East Palapa Ring is comprised of a fiber-optic cable 6,878 km in length and connects Papua, islands in the Maluku region and East Nusa Tenggara.
