India’s National Digital Communications Policy to help attain the SDGs

Speaking at an event on the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day, the Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Ram Sewak Sharma, highlighted that India’s National Digital Communication Policy, adopted in 2018, is in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and that it aims to create a robust telecommunications infrastructure that should facilitate the development of the education, healthcare, energy and innovation sector. Among other things, the policy aims to open up towards emerging technologies such as 5G and rationalise spectrum price.
