Indian government approves VoIP interconnection
An inter-ministerial panel in India has approved the interconnection between VoIP and VoLTE within the country, allowing Internet service providers and telecom operators to conclude interconnection agreements in this area. With such interconnection in place, users would be able to make and receive calls to and from non-IP based networks and vice-versa. In a concrete example, users may call landline or mobile numbers from Internet services such as Skype and Viber. More details here and here.
