Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), V. Srinivas, launched the third edition of the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) portal on 6 July 2023. The portal, accessible on this website, aims to evaluate the effectiveness of e-governance service delivery from the citizen’s perspective.

The NeSDA framework, developed by DARPG, objectively assesses e-governance service delivery at the state, union territory, and central ministry levels (the most recent monthly report can be found here). The objective is to measure the depth and effectiveness of existing mechanisms and facilitate improvements.

The NeSDA 2023 framework has been revised to align with contemporary citizens’ needs, global digital government trends, and UN e-Government Survey studies. It includes additions such as evaluating e-government at the city level, expanding focus sectors to include Transport and Public Grievance, and incorporating additional assessment parameters like Open Government Data, E-Participation, and Leveraging Emerging Technologies.

The NeSDA study, conducted biennially, assesses states, union territories, and central ministries on the efficiency of their e-governance service delivery. The portal will serve as a platform for collecting online data from the respective governments, enabling them to enhance their citizen-centric services and share best practices nationwide.
