India adapts new regulations on data localisation related to payment companies
A new regulation which entered into effect in October in India requires payment companies like Visa, Mastercard, or Paypal to store all information about transactions involving Indians only on computers within the country. In doing this, India seeks to have better control over the data and boost national companies in this sector. Meanwhile, the debate on other data localisation draft rules in India continues.
