IEEE publishes a draft guide on ethics and artificial intelligence

In the framework of its Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has published a draft version of a guide called ‘Ethically Aligned Design: A Vision for Prioritizing Human Wellbeing with Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems’. The document, which is up for public comment until March 2017, is aimed to encourage technologists to prioritize ethical considerations in the creation of autonomous and intelligent technologies. It tackles, among others, aspects related to: methodologies to guide ethical research and design, safety and beneficence of artificial general intelligence and artificial super intelligence, personal data and individual access control, economics and humanitarian issues, and legal considerations.
