ICANN announces the creation of Post Transition IANA as a legal entity
ICANN announced that the Post Transition IANA entity has been legally incorporated, under the name Public Technical Identifiers (PTI), as a nonprofit public benefit corporation and controlled affiliate of ICANN. PTI will start performing the IANA functions upon the successful completion of the transition process, and on the basis of an IANA naming functions contract with ICANN and the subcontracts with ICANN for the performance of the numbering and protocol parameter services.
